Course Evaluation

Evaluating a course is a critical aspect of the design process. There are many quality assurance tools that can be used. However, for my course I designed to use the OSCQR rubric to ensure the course was meeting their quality standards. One reason I chose this tool was because it can be used while the course is still in the design phase as a formative assessment. Since I was still designing when I completed this rubric on my course I was able to identify areas I could improve upon to make my course better. Specific, actionable feedback is always valuable.

After completing this rubric, I decided I needed to do three things to improve the course:

  1. Create a comprehensive syllabus with all relevant information students of the course might need to be successful.

  2. Proofread everything!

  3. Double check all learning content was accessible to all.
